Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno recently underscored the persistent threat posed by Boko Haram in a firm statement: “We will intensify our efforts with unshaken resolve until this menace is completely eliminated.” His remarks came in the wake of a brutal assault carried out by an offshoot of the militant group on a military outpost near Barka Tolorom, situated along the Chad side of Lake Chad, resulting in the tragic loss of 24 soldiers.
