Cameroon public sector opens 2305 jobs for 2026 recruitment drive

Cameroon’s government unveils recruitment plans for 2,305 public sector positions in 2026

The Ministry of Public Service and Administrative Reform has initiated the hiring process for next year, releasing 36 official decrees outlining participation guidelines. These measures cover direct recruitment exams, training competitions, professional tests, and selection assessments to fill critical roles across government agencies.

Under the standard recruitment track, 890 vacancies are available, including 470 direct entry posts for professionals in finance, agriculture, mining, civil engineering, livestock, maritime fisheries, telecommunications, and public health. An additional 100 training slots are reserved for the National Institute of Youth and Sports (INJS) and its regional centers. The National School of Administration and Magistracy (ENAM) will also offer 220 training positions, while 100 more spots will be filled through competitive selection tests.

The special recruitment category, authorized by the President, focuses on education and healthcare sectors. This initiative creates 1,200 new opportunities, with 1,000 reserved for unassigned trainees at teacher training colleges (ENS and ENSET). Another 200 positions target specialized medical professionals, complementing 920 healthcare roles announced earlier in April 2026. Candidates applying for teaching positions must select their preferred school during application and take exams at regional centers housing those institutions.

Additionally, 215 posts will be filled through professional-level competitions.

Notably, the 2026 recruitment drive represents a reduction of 555 positions compared to 2025’s public sector hiring, when 2,860 roles were opened for applications.
