After an extensive five-hour deliberative session, the C64’s unified stance was articulated by Martin Fayulu. He declared, «The Congolese people are not deceived. These repeated consultations spearheaded by Félix Tshisekedi fail to address the urgent realities of ongoing conflict, pervasive insecurity, the critical health crisis, or the profound social distress afflicting our citizens. Instead, they divert the nation’s focus from its genuine priorities.»

Leaders within the opposition further allege that President Tshisekedi is «cynically preoccupied» with prolonging his tenure beyond his second mandate, which is set to conclude in 2028. They claim the ruling power is deliberately «orchestrating conditions for an extension» by exploiting the conflict and widespread suffering prevalent in the eastern regions of the country. The C64 coalition firmly opposes Félix Tshisekedi’s ambitions, accusing him of being prepared to solidify the fragmentation of the nation even as his constitutionally mandated term, with 754 days remaining, draws to a close.

In response to what it characterizes as a dangerous political deviation, the C64 coalition plans to mobilize the populace. The group has reiterated its call for a significant national march scheduled for September 15, aiming to protest against the maneuvers of the current government.
