Algerian Prime Minister Concludes Official Visit to Niger After Inaugurating Key Energy Project

The Algerian Prime Minister, Mr. Sifi Ghrieb, has departed Niamey following the conclusion of a high-level official visit to Niger, during which he inaugurated the newly completed Algerian-Nigerien Solidarity Power Plant with a capacity of 40 megawatts.

Landmark Power Plant Inaugurated as Part of Bilateral Cooperation

The 40-megawatt power plant, constructed as a gift from Algeria to Niger, represents a significant milestone in the deepening energy cooperation between the two nations. This strategic infrastructure project underscores Algeria’s commitment to supporting Niger’s development goals and strengthening the energy infrastructure of the Sahel region.

The facility was inaugurated during a joint ceremony led by the Algerian Prime Minister, Mr. Sifi Ghrieb, and his Nigerien counterpart, Mr. Ali Lamine Zeine Mahaman, reflecting the collaborative spirit that defines the partnership between Algeria and Niger.

High-Level Meetings Strengthen Bilateral Ties

Following the inauguration, Mr. Sifi Ghrieb was received by the President of Niger, General Abdourahamane Tiani, to whom he conveyed warm greetings from the Algerian President, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune. During this meeting, the Algerian Prime Minister reaffirmed Algeria’s dedication to enhancing fraternal relations, solidarity, and cooperation between the two neighboring countries.

The visit concluded with a farewell ceremony at Niamey International Airport, where the Algerian Prime Minister was seen off by the Nigerien Prime Minister and the Algerian Ambassador to Niger, Mr. Ahmed Saadi, marking the successful completion of this official diplomatic mission.
