Reports had initially suggested Arsenal was the frontrunner in the race to sign Rogers during the early summer transfer window. However, Chelsea moved swiftly to secure the deal, reportedly paying a staggering £117 million (138 million euros) to Aston Villa. This makes Rogers the second-most expensive transfer in Premier League history, just behind Alexander Isak’s move from Newcastle to Liverpool last summer for £125 million.
