The PDCI-RDA Seeks Urgent Political Dialogue To Establish Electoral Commission
Abidjan, July 7, 2026 (AIP) – The spokesperson for the PDCI-RDA, Brédoumy Soumaïla, reiterated on Wednesday, July 7, 2026, at Abidjan Cocody, that his party’s stance on establishing a consensual electoral organ remains unwavering.
“The PDCI-RDA has formally requested the government to initiate this dialogue without delay. Our recent history teaches us that lasting peace and social cohesion cannot be achieved without consultation,” Soumaïla stated during a press conference at the party’s headquarters.
He lamented that the prime minister had invited political parties to an information session without exchange, describing this approach as insufficient. The party will reiterate its demand for a broader negotiation framework whenever necessary.
Furthermore, the PDCI-RDA is insisting on revising the electoral list before the end of 2026, in accordance with the electoral code. Soumaïla denounced the non-compliance with the revision scheduled for 2025, which was funded by the state budget without a valid justification.
“The government must account to the Ivorian taxpayers for its management of this budget,” he emphasized.
“The people are calling upon the PDCI-RDA for help. This help will come through President Cheick Tidjane Thiam, who will regain power and serve progress and happiness for all,” concluded Soumaïla.
