Jordan strongly condemns foiled terror plots in Morocco

The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has issued a strong condemnation of recently foiled terrorist operations targeting Morocco, reaffirming its unwavering solidarity with the North African nation in safeguarding its security and stability.

Amman’s swift response came through an official statement from the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, which described the thwarted plots as a direct threat to Morocco’s public order, citizen safety, and national integrity. The ministry did not mince words in denouncing these acts, emphasizing the gravity of such threats to regional peace.

“The Jordanian government stands firmly with Morocco in its efforts to protect its people and uphold its sovereignty,” declared Ambassador Fouad Majali, spokesperson for the ministry. “Any attempt to undermine Morocco’s security will find no support from Jordan.”

The timing of this declaration follows the announcement by Morocco’s Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations regarding the dismantling of a highly advanced terror network. Authorities credited intelligence provided by the General Directorate for National Security (DGST) for the successful preemptive operations across multiple cities.

Investigations reveal that the arrested individuals were not acting alone. Evidence points to logistical and operational ties with a regional Daech-affiliated faction operating in the Sahel belt. While further details remain under scrutiny, the scale and sophistication of the foiled plots underscore the persistent and evolving nature of extremist threats in North and West Africa.
