Marking the 105th anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party (PCC) foundation, the Chinese Embassy in Gabon recently hosted a significant press conference. This event aimed to illuminate the remarkable trajectory of an organization that has become a pivotal force on the global stage. Addressing journalists and invited guests, Chinese diplomats underscored the historical path of a party that has profoundly reshaped the destiny of its people. Within mere decades, China has achieved astonishing industrialization, realizing a dual marvel of rapid economic advancement coupled with sustained social stability.
To truly grasp contemporary China, deciphering the operational mechanics of the PCC is essential. This crucial point was forcefully reiterated by Xiaole Zhu, Minister-Counselor at the Embassy. He stated during his presentation, «In 105 years, the Chinese Communist Party, initially comprising only about fifty members, has burgeoned into the world’s largest ruling party, boasting over 100 million members.»
This ascent is rooted in a distinctive synergy with the populace. The PCC draws its strength from deep popular roots and a theoretical framework that continuously innovates, adapting Marxism to the nation’s concrete and evolving realities. Furthermore, absolute internal rigor is maintained to safeguard the Party’s vitality. An unprecedented campaign against corruption and a concerted reinforcement of discipline have successfully mitigated latent risks. As Ambassador Zhou Ping succinctly put it: «To forge quality steel, the tools themselves must be robust.»
A shared vision for a future with Gabon
Internationally, China steadfastly reaffirms its role as a global peacebuilder and a key contributor to worldwide development. Through the consistent implementation of its five-year plans, the nation sustains a contribution of approximately 30% to global economic growth. Concurrently, ambitious initiatives, such as «The Belt and Road», foster expanded international cooperation and are responsible for generating hundreds of thousands of employment opportunities.
This commemorative occasion also served to fortify bilateral ties with Libreville. The Ambassador warmly concluded the event by emphasizing that «China and Gabon are excellent partners, bound by traditional trust.» As a new era of cooperation dawns, Beijing expresses its full readiness to deepen exchanges in governance, aiming to jointly construct a community with a shared future.
