Trans-saharan road project: studies commence for chadian segment
The signing ceremony took place in N’Djamena, coinciding with a high-level coordination meeting held on the second day of the Algerian delegation’s working visit to Chad. Abdelkader Djellaoui, Algeria’s Minister of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure, and Amir Idriss Kourda, Chad’s Minister of Infrastructure, Disenclavement, and Road Maintenance, affixed their signatures to the agreement.
Attendees at this pivotal gathering included the Director General of the Algerian Agency for International Cooperation for Solidarity and Development, Algeria’s Ambassador to Chad, alongside senior representatives from the Cosider group and the National Public Works Company (SNTP). The Chadian delegation was equally robust, featuring the Minister Delegate for Infrastructure and numerous high-ranking officials.
During the discussions, the Chadian Minister underscored the remarkable “rapid dynamism” currently characterizing the execution of bilateral agreements. He lauded the tangible progress achieved on the ground since the initial agreements were inked in Algiers on April 22nd. This progress notably encompasses mutual technical visits and the official commencement of feasibility studies for the Trans-Saharan Road project as it traverses Chadian territory.
