President Romuald Wadagni of Bénin landed in Ouagadougou on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 2, 2026, commencing an official friendship and working visit to Burkina Faso. This significant bilateral engagement aims to strengthen Bénin Burkina cooperation within West Africa.
Upon his arrival at Ouagadougou International Airport, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, President of Faso, personally greeted the Béninese head of state. The two distinguished leaders observed the playing of their respective national anthems, followed by a formal military honors ceremony, underscoring the importance of this diplomatic exchange in the Sahel region.

Following the welcoming formalities, the Burkinabè and Béninese presidents engaged in a private, one-on-one discussion within the airport’s distinguished honor lounge, setting the stage for deeper talks on bilateral issues.

Subsequently, both leaders proceeded to the Koulouba Presidential Palace, where a substantive working session was scheduled to further their bilateral dialogue on various aspects of Bénin Burkina cooperation.
