  • Parma secures talented midfielder permanently

Following weeks of speculation, Cremaschi is set to establish his career permanently in Italy. The Serie A outfit exercised a €4 million clause to extend his loan agreement, which was originally slated to run until September 2025. The American, a product of the Inter Miami academy, was recognized as the Young American Player of the Year last season and boasts three caps for his national team.

  • A challenging start at Parma

Despite his initial move to the Italian club, Cremaschi found limited opportunities to showcase his full potential in a Parma shirt. Joining shortly after the arrival of Argentinian international Rodrigo De Paul, the American struggled to regain his physical fitness and optimal form. He made his debut in October but subsequently played only sporadically before sustaining a knee injury in March, which brought his season to an early conclusion.

  • Forced departure from Miami

Cremaschi, a natural central midfielder, appeared unlikely to rejoin the Herons’ squad after openly criticizing coach Javier Mascherano’s tactical decisions. Utilized in various positions, his playing time diminished, fueling his dissatisfaction.

“I’m frustrated, I want to play,” Cremaschi stated last August. “The most important thing for me is to perform at a very high level, and to achieve that, I need playing time and experience. I’ve played very little in recent games, and I don’t believe it’s due to my performance level.”

Shortly thereafter, the Miami club arranged his loan to provide him with the necessary playing opportunities.

  • Inter Miami’s squad flexibility post-Cremaschi

Cremaschi’s permanent departure is expected to significantly benefit the Herons in their transfer market ambitions. The club is reportedly interested in former Manchester United midfielder Casemiro, who is currently a free agent. With one less midfielder and an additional squad spot available, Inter Miami appears poised to sign another high-profile recruit.
