The 54th edition of Cameroon’s National Unity Day celebrations saw the Chadian military contingent make a notable appearance in Yaoundé’s 20 May Boulevard parade. On May 21, 2026, Cameroon’s Minister Delegate to the Presidency in charge of Defense, Mr. Beti Assomo Joseph, received General Issakha Malloua Djamous, Chad’s Minister of National Defense, Veterans, and War Victims, in an official meeting at the Ministry of Defense headquarters in Yaoundé. This high-level engagement followed the parade and focused on strengthening bilateral military cooperation.
The meeting, held in an atmosphere of mutual respect and cordiality, brought together senior defense officials from both countries.
