With the Youth Olympic Games Dakar 2026 just months away, Faye showcased the tangible progress already underway. Over 132,000 people across the country are engaged in constructing and renovating sports facilities, laying the groundwork for this historic event—the first Olympic Games to be hosted in Africa.

He also revealed plans for the deployment of multifunctional sports courts in local communities. These spaces are designed to provide youth with accessible venues for sports, education, and community bonding, amplifying the Games’ legacy beyond 2026.

Closing his address, President Faye invited the world to Dakar for the Youth Olympic Games 2026, with the theme: “Africa welcomes, Dakar celebrates.” The event is set to serve as a unifying celebration of the continent’s potential and a testament to Senegal’s leadership in African sports.
