Premier transfert d’envergure : le FC Barcelone s’apprête à frapper un grand coup !
Anthony Gordon is expected to finalize his contract with FC Barcelone this Friday, marking a significant move for the Catalan giants.

With Robert Lewandowski’s departure, FC Barcelona is already actively pursuing a replacement for the Polish striker. The Catalan club has reportedly set its sights on Anthony Gordon.
The Newcastle United winger, who is also capable of playing centrally, is anticipated to be officially announced by both clubs in the near future.
An €80 million transfer deal
FC Barcelona wasted no time after securing their league title, quickly identifying Robert Lewandowski’s successor.
Earlier this week, reports indicated that Barcelona’s management reached an agreement with Newcastle United for a substantial fee of €80 million, plus additional bonuses.
This development was corroborated by renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Furthermore, Barcelona has reportedly already agreed on personal terms for the 25-year-old English talent. The player has been a long-term target, with the move championed by Blaugrana coach Hansi Flick and sporting director Deco. Both figures are ardent admirers of Gordon, who honed his skills at Liverpool, made his breakthrough at Everton, and truly excelled at St James’ Park.
On Thursday, Gordon arrived in Barcelona accompanied by his agents and family, primarily to undergo his medical examination. As expected, he successfully completed it without any issues.
From a performance perspective, the English international is coming off a highly impressive season with Newcastle United, having netted 17 goals and provided 5 assists across 46 appearances in all competitions, including a remarkable 10 goals in just 12 Champions League matches.
A distinct profile from Lewandowski
This season, Lamine Yamal emerged as the Blaugrana’s top scorer. Following the young prodigy, Ferran Torres also played a crucial role in the successful campaign under Hansi Flick.
Despite being 37 years old, Robert Lewandowski still managed to score an impressive 19 goals in 46 appearances. Anthony Gordon offers versatility, capable of playing centrally, but he primarily thrives on the left flank, cutting inside onto his dominant foot.
For the left-wing position, the preferred player profile demands attributes such as blistering pace, impactful dribbling, and intense pressing capabilities.
The situation surrounding Marcus Rashford presents more complexities. Until June 15th, the Blaugrana held a buy-out clause valued at €30 million, a figure significantly lower than Gordon’s transfer fee. However, the primary obstacle remains Rashford’s substantial salary, which poses a challenge for Joan Laporta’s financial management.
Nevertheless, this does not entirely rule out the possibility of the Manchester United winger playing in Spain next season.
Two potential options are currently under consideration: a renegotiated loan deal or a permanent transfer offer with a reduced salary package. Beyond these two English talents, Barcelona is also reportedly monitoring Julian Alvarez. These significant reinforcements aim to solidify their dominance in La Liga, especially after securing their second consecutive title this season.
