Ivorian politics shifts as Ahoua Don Mello launches new party

Ivorian political landscape is witnessing a significant transformation as Dr. Ahoua Don Mello reshapes his movement into a fully-fledged political party. This strategic evolution marks a bold step toward introducing a sovereignist and alternative vision for Côte d’Ivoire’s future.

Founding assembly endorses new political formation

On Saturday, July 11, 2026, in Abidjan, supporters and campaign team members of Dr. Ahoua Don Mello gathered to formalize their commitment to democratic engagement through a new political structure. The plenary session overwhelmingly adopted a resolution to establish this party, entrusting Dr. Ahoua Don Mello with leading the process toward official establishment.

The assembly, presided by Ipou Ludovic with Ahile Fernand (Léo Côte d’Ivoire) as recording secretary and Brou Jean-Baptiste as rapporteur, followed extensive deliberations by a reflection commission. This commission, chaired by Me Sery Zokou and including prominent figures like Kouamé Kouakou (OK) and Claudel Guiguy, presented a comprehensive report advocating for a formal political structure.

The report, delivered by Sery Sara Soko (Deputy Chief of Staff) with support from Mathieu N’Guatta and other key collaborators, emphasized the need to transform the movement into a structured political organization. This new entity aims to become a platform for proposals, unity, and democratic alternatives.

Core values and national ambitions

The emerging party positions itself on pillars of democracy, social justice, good governance, solidarity, meritocracy, and national sovereignty. Dr. Ahoua Don Mello outlined his vision for a more just, prosperous, united, and fully sovereign Côte d’Ivoire, calling on patriotic, progressive, democratic, and sovereignist forces to unite behind this initiative.

During the meeting, he announced the immediate launch of preparatory work for the “Congress of Pioneers,” which will serve as the party’s founding act. The date for this landmark event will be announced separately.

Uniting for change

The closing of the assembly was characterized by fraternity, cohesion, and optimism. Participants reaffirmed their dedication to building this new political force with discipline and unity, positioning it as a service to Côte d’Ivoire, Africa, and a multipolar world.
