Mali offers bounties for key Sahel terror leaders

Mali cracks down on Sahel terror networks with bounty program

The Government of Mali has launched a decisive financial incentive program targeting seven high-profile terrorist leaders operating in the Sahel region. Each figure carries a specific bounty ranging from 500 million to 2 billion West African CFA francs, rewarding credible intelligence that leads to their arrest or elimination.

« Authorities are offering substantial financial rewards to individuals who provide actionable information about these designated terrorists, » stated a press release from the Ministry of Security. The announcement underscores Mali’s commitment to dismantling terror networks threatening national stability.

Among the most wanted are Iyad Ag Ghali (2 billion FCFA), Hamadoun Hassan Sankaré (1.5 billion FCFA), Abdoulaye Mahamadou Bekaye Diallo (1.5 billion FCFA), and Alghabass Ag Intallah (1 billion FCFA). These individuals stand accused of orchestrating attacks that have endangered civilian lives and infrastructure.

Security forces urge citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the military or police. « Every tip could be the key to dismantling terror cells and restoring peace, » the statement emphasized. The initiative reflects Mali’s broader strategy to counter extremism through both military and community-based efforts.
