The Mali chapter of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Scholars has completed its national pre-selection round for the third edition of the prestigious Nabawi Acharif Hadith Memorization Contest. The event, held on June 27, 2026, at the foundation’s Banankabougou headquarters, culminated in the selection of three outstanding candidates to represent the country in the global finals.
This year’s national selection drew 50 participants from Quranic memorization centers across Bamako and other regions of Mali. The competition aligns with the Mohammed VI Foundation’s strategic objectives to foster Islamic scholarship and promote the noble teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
The three victorious candidates emerged after rigorous evaluation across multiple categories. Ahmad Sow claimed top honors in the elementary level category, memorizing 40 hadiths. Mouhamad Diallo excelled in the intermediate category with 30 hadiths, while Boubacar Traoré triumphed in the advanced category, also memorizing 30 hadiths.
The foundation’s initiative aims to cultivate moral values such as tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and moderation among African youth through deep engagement with prophetic traditions. The international finals will bring together winners from 49 countries, where Mali’s representatives will compete for top honors.
