Could free Ligue 1 matches be broadcast live and free of charge every week? That’s what a proposed amendment to the professional sports reform bill aims to achieve — a bill currently under review in the National Assembly.

At present, fans must subscribe to Ligue 1+, the official streaming platform, for a minimum of €15 per month to watch matches. The platform already boasts over a million subscribers.
