Nantes hit with behind-closed-doors match after pitch invasion against Toulouse
French football’s disciplinary body has handed FC Nantes a full stadium closure for their next Ligue 1 fixture, coupled with a two-match ban for the Loire stand, following last weekend’s chaotic clash with Toulouse.
The Ligue de Football Professionnel’s disciplinary committee ruled the sanctions after fans stormed the pitch in protest, forcing the referee to halt play in the closing minutes of the match.
The decision means Nantes will play their following home game without any spectators present, with the Loire stand also suspended for two additional fixtures.
Club officials have already indicated they will review the events and cooperate fully with authorities to prevent any recurrence.
