The Nigerien government has taken a significant step in organizing the upcoming “Invest in Niger” Forum, scheduled from November 24 to 26, 2026. Authorities officially established the committee tasked with spearheading the preparations, entrusting it with the crucial mission of showcasing the nation’s vast economic potential to both national and international investors.
The countdown has officially begun. In Niamey, officials have appointed the ad hoc committee responsible for orchestrating the international “Invest in Niger” Forum. Addressing the newly formed committee members, the Minister of Commerce and Industry, M. Abdoulaye Seydou, immediately underscored the profound significance of this event for Niger’s economic future.

The forum is primarily envisioned as a pivotal platform to highlight diverse investment opportunities across several key sectors vital for national development. According to the Minister, Niger possesses immense economic potential, and it is now incumbent upon the authorities to harness this by establishing the necessary conditions to reassure, attract, and support both domestic and foreign capital.
“Niger holds immense economic potential; it is up to the authorities to create the conditions to reassure, attract, and support investments.” – M. Abdoulaye Seydou, Minister of Commerce and Industry
Upholding professional standards and fostering collaboration
The Minister subsequently urged the committee members to demonstrate unwavering professionalism, adhere strictly to timelines, and ensure seamless synergy among all involved parties. This directive aims to guarantee the success of an event whose aspirations extend beyond national borders. The forum is set to host several esteemed guest countries, including Turkey, China, and Russia, alongside special invitees from across the African continent and beyond.

Extensive diplomatic engagement
In addition to the aforementioned guests of honor, delegations from Burkina Faso and Mali, key partners within the Confédération des États du Sahel (AES), will attend. Other prominent participants include representatives from Togo, Ghana, Chad, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, India, and Saudi Arabia, underscoring the broad international appeal of the Niger investment forum.
Structured governance through four sub-commissions
The ad hoc committee comprises experts drawn from various sectoral ministries and professional bodies. It is organized into four distinct sub-commissions, each with a specialized mandate:
Scientific
Logistics, exhibition, protocol, and security
Communication and institutional coordination
The comprehensive mission assigned to this committee is extensive: to define the event’s organizational strategy, develop its program, meticulously select bankable projects to present to potential investors, and ensure robust national and international promotion and visibility for the forum.

Niger’s strategic repositioning as an investment hub
Beyond logistical planning, this initiative is deeply rooted in a broader political ambition. The Refondation authorities are determined to revitalize the national economy and strategically position Niger as a prime destination for private, regional, and international capital. The “Invest in Niger” forum thus serves as a crucial diplomatic-economic instrument in this endeavor, particularly as several nations across the Sahel and West Africa seek to diversify their economic partnerships.
The newly appointed committee now faces the challenge of transforming this ambitious mandate into an event that lives up to the government’s high expectations, with just over four months remaining until the scheduled dates.
