On Tuesday, June 2, 2026, in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso and Italy celebrated the 80th anniversary of the Italian Republic, reaffirming their robust ties of friendship and cooperation. The Italian Embassy hosted a commemorative event that evening, drawing together high-ranking Burkinabè officials, members of the diplomatic community, and Italian expatriates.
Bêbgnasgnan Stella Eldine Kabré/Kaboré, Minister Delegate to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended the festivities on behalf of the Burkinabè government. The occasion was steeped in remembrance, fostering a spirit of fraternity and highlighting the enduring historical connections between the two nations.

During his address, Gabriele Di Muzio, Italy’s Ambassador to Burkina Faso, underscored the excellence of the bilateral cooperation, particularly emphasizing the impactful initiatives driven by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation.

Ambassador Di Muzio reiterated Italy’s steadfast commitment to supporting Burkina Faso in critical areas such as stabilization efforts, humanitarian aid, and socio-economic advancement. “Our presence here is fundamentally driven by the desire to work for the benefit of the friendly Burkinabè people,” he stated. “We envision a lasting partnership, firmly rooted in shared values and mutual respect.”
Representing the Burkinabè authorities, Mme Kabré/Kaboré extended heartfelt congratulations from the President of Faso and the entire Burkinabè populace to the Italian community. She commended the dynamic nature of their cooperation, which she noted is built upon solidarity, mutual trust, and a collective ambition for progress and development.

The Minister Delegate also highlighted the significant investment prospects available across various strategic sectors within Burkina Faso. She urged Italian business leaders and investors to capitalize on the streamlined processes and incentives provided by the Burkinabè government, aiming to further boost economic exchanges and forge stronger business partnerships between the two countries.
