The Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has kicked off its summer transfer window with a high-profile exit. After three seasons in the French capital, striker Gonçalo Ramos is set to join Italian giants AC Milan on a long-term deal.
PSG is undergoing a significant squad overhaul this summer as coach Luis Enrique looks to rebuild the team that secured back-to-back UEFA Champions League titles. The first major transfer development has now been confirmed with Gonçalo Ramos’s departure to AC Milan.
Gonçalo Ramos joins AC Milan in record deal
The move was officially announced through a club statement: “After three seasons with Paris Saint-Germain, during which he won 12 trophies including two consecutive Champions League titles, Gonçalo Ramos will continue his career at AC Milan under a permanent transfer agreement.”
The Italian club followed up with their own announcement, confirming the contract details: “AC Milan has finalized the signing of Gonçalo Matias Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain. The Portuguese forward has agreed to a contract running until June 30, 2031.”
One of PSG’s most lucrative sales ever
While the exact transfer fee remains undisclosed, reports indicate AC Milan will pay an initial €74 million with potential add-ons that could push the total to €80 million. This makes it the Rossoneri’s largest-ever purchase, while for PSG, it ranks as their second-highest sale after the €90 million received for Neymar in 2023. The fee places Ramos ahead of recent transfers like Manuel Ugarte and Xavi Simons, both sold for €50 million to Manchester United and Tottenham respectively. PSG’s summer transfer saga is now officially underway.
