His pointed remarks came during a broadcast on Jakaarlo this Friday. Gadiaga highlighted that 142 days have passed since the former Prime Minister’s dismissal from the Primature on May 22, 2026. He asserted that Sonko had virtually depleted the 1.77 billion CFA francs earmarked for political expenditures during that period, reportedly leaving less than 70 million CFA francs for his successor, Al Aminou Lo, upon his departure.
Through a detailed arithmetic calculation, the commentator determined that this sum translates to approximately 12 million CFA francs spent daily throughout Ousmane Sonko’s time at the Primature. Gadiaga starkly contrasted this lavish spending with the dire situation faced by university students at the time, specifically referencing the tragic death of young Abdoulaye Ba, who had been advocating for his overdue 40,000 CFA franc scholarship. For Badara Gadiaga, this sharp disparity reveals a profound contradiction between the official rhetoric surrounding the Plan de redressement économique et social (PRES) and the actual stewardship of public funds by the former head of government. Gadiaga claimed Sonko personally benefited from over 300,000 CFA francs per month from these very funds.
