With Gonçalo Ramos’ move to AC Milan officially confirmed this week, another player is set to leave Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). Brazilian midfielder Gabriel Moscardo, who joined the club for €20 million in January 2024, could soon be heading to Espanyol Barcelona on loan.
Moscardo’s journey to PSG has included two loan spells: one at Stade de Reims during the 2024-25 season and another at Braga last year. Despite his young age of 20, he remains under contract with PSG until June 2028. Recent reports from Spanish media suggest the Espanyol Barcelona deal is highly likely to go through, with insiders close to the situation indicating strong progress.
Player’s PSG future uncertain despite personal desire to stay
Just months ago, Moscardo publicly expressed his eagerness to return to PSG’s first team. In an April interview, he stated, “We haven’t discussed next season yet. My agent, in coordination with PSG’s management, will decide what’s best for me. We’ll revisit this conversation once the season ends. Of course, I want to stay at PSG, prepare for the new season there, and be where I belong. I need more playing time. I’m progressing, and this year at Braga has given me valuable experience for future challenges. And, if all goes well, I’ll one day play a full season with PSG and prove I’m up to the task.”
PSG’s transfer activity heats up after first summer deal
Gonçalo Ramos’ departure to AC Milan for around €70 million marked PSG’s first confirmed summer transfer. The club is now preparing for additional moves, with Randal Kolo Muani, linked to Juventus, and Kang-in Lee, reportedly closing in on deals with Atlético de Madrid.
