Paris Saint-Germain nears first summer signing with Aleksey Batrakov deal
With the glow of their recent Champions League triumph still fresh, Paris Saint-Germain is already plotting their next moves in the transfer market. Their sights are set on a promising Russian talent, as the club races to bolster a squad that must remain competitive without major upheaval. The focus remains on nurturing young prospects, and according to insider reports, Aleksey Batrakov, the dynamic attacking midfielder from Lokomotiv Moscow, is on the brink of joining the French capital’s elite club.
Batrakov’s move to Paris inches closer
High-ranking sources within Lokomotiv Moscow and Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly held multiple discussions, with the deal appearing all but finalized. A top agent with deep ties to the Russian football scene has indicated a 95% probability of Batrakov making the switch to Ligue 1. Luis Campos, the club’s director of football, is scheduled to travel to Moscow in the coming days to finalize the agreement. The only obstacles standing in the way of this transfer would be an unforeseen force majeure scenario.
The financial terms are now clear: a transfer fee of approximately 25 million euros, with Batrakov’s annual salary expected to land between 5 to 6 million euros. If negotiations proceed without delays, the deal could be completed within the next fortnight.
Russian coach highlights Batrakov’s potential
Andrey Nagibin, who previously managed Batrakov in Lokomotiv Moscow’s youth teams, has also weighed in on the situation. Speaking candidly about the player’s future, he emphasized that while Batrakov possesses the technical and athletic qualities to compete at the highest level, securing a starting position in Paris will require more than just talent.
« The French league’s intensity is significantly higher than Russia’s, so adaptation will be critical, » Nagibin explained. « Batrakov has the potential, but many factors must align for him to become a first-team regular. However, we’ve seen examples like Safonov, who arrived as a backup goalkeeper and earned his place through hard work. I recently spoke with Alexey, and he’s eager to prove himself at the PSG. I wish him every success. »
