The innovative digital platform Sawti is redefining how political information is accessed in Morocco, offering a clear and understandable approach for all citizens, whether residing within the country or abroad.
Launched as a non-profit initiative, Sawti was conceived by two visionary young Moroccan entrepreneurs, Ismaïl Lahlou and Yassine Lahlou Kamal. Their driving ambition is to bolster access to credible political insights and foster broader civic engagement among the populace.
Designed to resonate with a diverse audience, the platform stands out for its extensive linguistic accessibility. Sawti currently supports nine languages, including Darija, Arabic, French, English, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, and German, with plans to integrate Tamazight in the near future. Its interface has been meticulously crafted for ease of use, ensuring seamless navigation through its rich content.
In a political landscape that can often appear intricate, Sawti provides educational resources designed to demystify the workings of institutions, electoral procedures, and the intricacies of national political dynamics.
Among its core functionalities, the platform enables users to quickly verify their electoral registration or complete online registration. With the registration deadline approaching on June 13, Sawti offers a rapid pathway for individuals to confirm their status and register promptly.
The platform also features dedicated sections for Moroccans living abroad, providing crucial information on how to participate in elections from their respective locations. Looking ahead, Sawti intends to introduce an interactive quiz, allowing users to explore their political leanings based on their values and perspectives on key societal issues.
Accessible digitally, Sawti represents a significant step towards modernizing access to information and strengthening citizen participation across Morocco.
