Senegal: former Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko elected President of the National Assembly
The election took place just four days after his dismissal by the Head of State, in a session boycotted by the opposition.
Ousmane Sonko, former Senegalese Prime Minister, was elected President of the National Assembly four days after being dismissed by the Head of State. The opposition boycotted the session, denouncing what they called a ‘constitutional coup’.
