Tchad un milestone in un development framework 2024-2030

The Minister of State overseeing Finance, Budget, Economy, Planning, and International Cooperation, Tahir Hamid Nguilin, jointly led a pivotal meeting this past Friday, May 22, in N’Djamena. The gathering, held at a local hotel, brought together the UN Resident Coordinator, Dr. François Batalingaya, alongside government officials, UN agency representatives, technical and financial partners, civil society leaders, and private sector stakeholders.

The high-level session served as both a review of the 2024-2026 cooperation cycle and the official launch of discussions for the upcoming 2027-2030 framework.

During his address, Tahir Hamid Nguilin underscored the enduring strength of Chad’s partnership with the United Nations system. He emphasized the critical importance of this meeting, highlighting the government’s vision for a more resilient, inclusive, and prosperous Chad as outlined in the National Development Plan, Tchad Connexion 2030. Key priorities include human capital development, climate adaptation, good governance, youth employment, and women’s empowerment.

« This steering committee session underscores our shared commitment to aligning the UN’s interventions with Chad’s national priorities, » Nguilin stated. « By endorsing the 2026 work plans and laying the groundwork for 2027-2030, we reaffirm our dedication to inclusive growth that leaves no one behind. »

Dr. François Batalingaya echoed this sentiment, noting that the evaluation of the current cycle reaffirms the effectiveness of joint efforts. « As we conclude this phase, our focus shifts toward the future. The next UNSDCF 2027-2030 will embody renewed ambition to address financing needs and the aspirations of the Chadian people, » he remarked.

The discussions centered on the lessons learned from the ongoing cycle and the strategic priorities for 2027-2030, particularly development financing, social inclusion, and resilience. The upcoming cooperation framework will align closely with the Tchad Connexion 2030 plan.
