Uber is expanding its footprint in Morocco, launching services in Agadir and Tangier to meet rising demand for reliable transportation amid the country’s booming tourism sector. This move follows the company’s established presence in Casablanca and Rabat, reinforcing Uber’s commitment to providing seamless mobility solutions across key Moroccan destinations. With the 2030 FIFA World Cup on the horizon, Morocco is positioning itself as a major travel hub, further driving the need for efficient urban transport.
As Morocco targets 26 million visitors by 2030, Uber emphasizes its dedication to “safe, dependable, and convenient” travel experiences for tourists. The service aims to simplify journeys from airports and hotels to popular attractions, ensuring visitors can explore cities effortlessly. A company statement highlights the initiative’s goal: to “enhance mobility across Morocco by offering a trustworthy alternative for getting around.”
In Agadir and Tangier, riders can now book rides through the Uber app, choosing between UberX and UberXL—options already available in Casablanca and Rabat. The expansion directly responds to the country’s growing tourism numbers, which have seen steady year-over-year increases. In 2025, Morocco welcomed a record 19.8 million visitors, a 14% jump from the previous year, while tourism revenue reached 124 billion Moroccan dirhams between January and November. The first quarter of 2026 saw 4.3 million tourists, up more than 7% compared to the same period in 2025.
