Women of Lake province stand united with security forces against Boko Haram

In the embattled Lake Province, where recent assaults by Boko Haram have heightened tensions, women have taken a bold stand. On Friday, May 22, 2026, members of the Provincial Women’s Network in Baga-Sola gathered to reaffirm their unwavering support for the country’s defense and security forces, calling for unity in the face of terrorist threats.

Led by the network’s president, Achta Adoum Abdoulaye, a delegation of women met with the Government Delegate for Lake Province, General Saleh Haggar Tidjani, at the military headquarters in Baga-Sola. Their mission was clear: to deliver a powerful message of solidarity with the troops battling Boko Haram.

Achta Adoum Abdoulaye conveyed the collective gratitude of the women of Lake Province to the administrative and military authorities for their relentless efforts to curb insecurity and uphold stability. She forcefully condemned the terrorist attacks that have claimed the lives of several defense personnel, extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and the nation as a whole.

To put words into action, the delegation presented a donation of food supplies to the troops actively engaged in operations against the insurgents.

The gesture did not go unnoticed. General Saleh Haggar Tidjani praised the women’s initiative as a display of patriotism, emphasizing the crucial role women play in fostering community resilience, social cohesion, and the fight against violent extremism.
