The Military Inter-Armed Schools Group (GEMIA) in Chad has celebrated a landmark event, marking the graduation of its sixth cohort of Enfants de Troupe while honoring top-performing students in a packed ceremony.
a ceremony steeped in tradition and ambition
Held in N’Djamena, the capital, the event brought together top military and civilian leaders, including General Hisseine Abderamane Haggar and the Deputy Chief of Staff, General Yangmmargue Beh Félix. The gathering also welcomed foreign military attachés, local officials, and proud parents and alumni, all gathered to witness the transformation of the new generation.
Among the 76 cadets who enrolled on October 6, 2025, a rigorous training regime has reshaped their identities. After months of physical and mental discipline—far from family comforts—they shed the label of “new recruits” to embrace their role as full-fledged Enfants de Troupe. “Today, they leave behind their rookie status,” declared the GEMIA commander, “to become the backbone of Chad’s future.”
values, discipline, and national vision
The ceremony underscored the school’s guiding principles: “Learn to build better.” This motto reflects the vision of President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno, whose leadership emphasizes education as the cornerstone of national progress. The graduating class embodies the values of honor, integrity, and excellence, principles instilled through structured training and mentorship.
The event also celebrated academic and athletic achievements, with top students receiving awards for overall performance, discipline, and physical prowess. The commander praised the winners and urged them to sustain their momentum, while calling for stronger collaboration with alumni associations and partners to elevate the school’s reputation as a premier training institution.
As the ceremony drew to a close, the GEMIA leader extended warm wishes for a restful break to all participants, acknowledging the pivotal role of parents in nurturing future leaders destined to serve Chad with distinction.
