Military officials from Tchad and the Central African Republic are intensifying collaboration to bolster security in their shared border regions. A high-level working session, led by General Moubarak Abakar Nassour Hor, Commander of the Tchad-Central African Republic joint force, took place recently to assess the outcomes of recent joint operations.
Key military figures from both nations attended the meeting, focusing on the results of the Al-Hamamia 1 and Al-Hamamia 2 missions. Discussions also addressed emerging security threats in vulnerable border communities, highlighting the need for stronger countermeasures.
New strategies for safer borders
During the talks, delegates explored advanced tactics to enhance the deployment of defense forces in high-risk areas. A breakthrough was achieved with the approval of a comprehensive operational plan for Operation Sentinelle, proposed by the G5 Sahel cell. This mission will feature enhanced surveillance measures, including fixed and mobile monitoring units, designed to detect and deter cross-border criminal activity.
Strengthening regional stability
General Moubarak Abakar Nassour Hor emphasized the mission’s dual goals: safeguarding civilians along the frontier and addressing transnational security threats more effectively. By integrating rapid-response capabilities with sustained surveillance, the operation aims to create a safer environment for border communities while reinforcing military cooperation between Tchad and the Central African Republic.
