The Office National pour l’Organisation du Pèlerinage (ORGEP) has released a formal advisory for Chadian pilgrims scheduled to undertake the Hadj in 2026. This directive follows an international conference on pilgrimage regulations held in Jeddah under the auspices of Saudi authorities, where the Chadian delegation was led by General Idriss Dokony Adiker, President of ORGEP.
Essential rules to ensure a safe and disciplined pilgrimage
In a clear and urgent message, ORGEP has emphasized the strict enforcement of Saudi regulations concerning security, health, and conduct throughout the sacred journey. Below are the key measures all Chadian pilgrims must observe:
Prohibited activities and strict conduct
- Political and partisan discussions are strictly forbidden—whether in hotels or at the holy sites of Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah. Any form of political gathering or organized meeting is also banned.
- The hosting or accommodation of unauthorized individuals in pilgrim accommodations or at ritual sites is prohibited.
Health precautions in extreme heat
With temperatures soaring in Saudi Arabia during the pilgrimage period, authorities strongly advise pilgrims to:
- Avoid outdoor activities between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM to reduce health risks associated with heat exposure.
- Refrain from long walks between ritual locations to conserve physical strength and prevent exhaustion.
Special provisions for vulnerable pilgrims
ORGEP has highlighted accommodations for elderly, ill, or physically challenged pilgrims:
- These individuals may appoint a proxy to perform the Ramy al-Jamarat (stoning of the pillars) ritual on their behalf.
Emergency response
In the event of an emergency or difficulty, pilgrims are urged to contact the dedicated Saudi assistance hotline immediately at 1966.
Through this communication, ORGEP urges all Chadian pilgrims to adhere rigorously to these guidelines, ensuring not only their personal safety but also the smooth and harmonious conduct of the Hadj 2026.
