Ivorian prime minister rallies investors at national development forum 2026-2030

Abidjan, July 9, 2026 — The second day of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 Consultative Group, dedicated to investors, kicked off under the leadership of Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire in Abidjan.

The Prime Minister highlighted the significance of the event, stating, “This marks a pivotal step in our consultative process focused on investment, entrepreneurship, and value creation. Our goal is to mobilize private capital essential for executing this ambitious development agenda.” He expressed satisfaction with the turnout, noting the presence of over 700 investors from friendly nations.

The session brought together business leaders, investors, and private sector representatives who traveled to Abidjan in large numbers. The Prime Minister emphasized the value of this platform as both a dialogue forum with private stakeholders and a means to align on a shared vision for growth.

Investors as catalysts for economic transformation

Robert Beugré Mambé underscored the government’s commitment to positioning the private sector as the driving force behind Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation. He reassured attendees of the country’s economic resilience, citing an average growth rate of 6.5% over recent years—despite global volatility—and reaffirming its status as one of Africa’s most dynamic economies.

The Prime Minister added, “This is a thriving market awaiting your investment. Today’s discussions will fast-track capital injection into priority sectors outlined in the PND 2026-2030, including industrialization, local processing of raw materials to boost value addition, infrastructure development—particularly in transport, digital technology, and logistics—to enhance competitiveness, as well as investments in human capital, innovation, and essential services for a more productive and inclusive economy.”

The first day of the forum, dedicated to institutional partners and the presentation of Côte d’Ivoire’s development strategy, attracted over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, including the host nation.

Leaders from key business confederations echoed the Prime Minister’s optimism. On behalf of investors, Ahmed Cissé of the General Confederation of Ivorian Enterprises (CGECI), Mehdi Tazi of Morocco’s General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), and Mohamed Gouled of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) reaffirmed their confidence in the Ivorian authorities’ vision. They pledged substantial financial commitments to support the PND 2026-2030 implementation.
