Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé opens investor-focused session of Côte d’Ivoire’s 2026-2030 development plan
Abidjan — The second day of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 Consultative Group, dedicated to private investors, kicked off in Abidjan today under the leadership of Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé. Held at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire, the session brought together over 700 investors from friendly nations eager to explore opportunities in Côte d’Ivoire’s evolving economy.
Strengthening private sector partnerships for economic transformation
The event, attended by business leaders, investors, and private sector representatives, served as a vital platform for dialogue. Robert Beugré Mambé highlighted the pivotal role of private investment in driving Côte d’Ivoire’s economic ambitions, noting the country’s robust growth trajectory—averaging 6.5% annually in recent years—among Africa’s most dynamic economies.
« Your participation today reflects the confidence you place in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic potential and its promise of sustainable growth, » he stated. « As key partners, your investments will be instrumental in building a more competitive, job-creating economy that aligns with our development vision. »
Sectoral priorities and investment opportunities under the PND 2026-2030
The Prime Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to positioning the private sector as the engine of economic transformation. Key focus areas include:
- Industrialization and local processing of raw materials to boost value addition;
- Strategic infrastructure development, spanning transport, digital connectivity, and logistics to enhance competitiveness;
- Human capital investment, innovation, and essential services to foster a productive and inclusive economy.
« This is a market brimming with potential, » he asserted. « Today’s engagements will fast-track investments in priority sectors outlined in the PND 2026-2030, ensuring Côte d’Ivoire remains a top destination for business in West Africa. »
The first day of the Consultative Group, which focused on institutional partners and the presentation of Côte d’Ivoire’s development strategy, drew over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, including representatives from Côte d’Ivoire itself.
Investor confidence and commitments to Côte d’Ivoire’s future
Speaking on behalf of the private sector, Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), alongside Mehdi Tazi (President of the CGEM in Morocco) and Mohamed Gouled (Vice-President of the International Finance Corporation), reaffirmed strong confidence in Côte d’Ivoire’s leadership. They pledged substantial financial commitments to support the PND 2026-2030, underscoring the private sector’s readiness to collaborate in shaping the country’s economic future.
