King Mohamed VI painted a glowing picture of Morocco’s current trajectory amid rising global instability, focusing on three critical pillars: unwavering stability and security that foster national confidence; robust economic growth driven by industrialization and technological advancement, including near-total self-sufficiency in food, pharmaceuticals and automotive manufacturing; and renewable energy development, particularly green hydrogen initiatives. The monarch also addressed persistent inequality challenges, emphasizing equitable economic benefits across all Moroccan regions.

The King stressed the urgency of accelerating integration initiatives, noting: «Alongside economic momentum, we continue advancing human development programs and expanding social protection to improve living standards and achieve social and spatial justice across Morocco.»

His Majesty called for mobilizing national savings to consolidate recent achievements and prepare for major post-election national projects following the September 23, 2026 legislative vote.

On Throne Day, the King granted clemency to 1,788 individuals, including both detainees and those already released, as announced by the Ministry of Justice.

“Praise be to God, prayers and peace be upon the Prophet, his family and companions.

Dear people,

The twenty-seventh anniversary of Our accession to the throne fills Us with immense pride and deep satisfaction. For 27 years, divine will has entrusted Us with guiding your destiny—a noble mission requiring unwavering commitment.

As the Quranic verse reminds: ‘If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor],’ We are grateful for the divine guidance that has steered our success in meeting your expectations and addressing your concerns.

Never have personal glory or the pursuit of ‘continental or international leadership’ been Our objectives. Instead, Our sole purpose has been to serve you to the best of Our ability, ensuring every Moroccan lives with dignity and freedom.

Today’s achievements fill Us with honor and pride, while reinforcing Our optimism for Morocco’s future. This success stems not from chance but from a clear strategic vision and governance doctrine centered on initiative, rigorous implementation, constructive self-criticism and forward-looking determination.

Dear people,

Morocco stands at a pivotal development juncture where a spirit of confidence and optimism must prevail over rhetoric breeding despair. What gives Us greatest pride is the security, stability and effective functioning of our public institutions.

In a turbulent regional and global landscape, Morocco’s political and institutional stability is a rare and invaluable asset. Today, stability is the cornerstone of our development—our strategic capital and source of national pride.

Dear people,

With its millennia-old history, Morocco draws strength from its ancestral traditions of a nation-state where institutions harmoniously complement each other. This foundation enables us to achieve remarkable progress despite challenges. The Kingdom’s organizational excellence in hosting major continental and international events has earned global admiration, though inevitably attracting envy on occasion.

Morocco has also demonstrated remarkable resilience, particularly in proactive flood management in the Gharb and northern regions.

The confluence of stability, effective institutions and positive indicators across sectors is accelerating our economic emergence while reinforcing national sovereignty. In 2025, growth reached 4.9%, with similar or higher rates projected for 2026.

Our agricultural sector has benefited from abundant rainfall and a successful harvest, strengthening water and food security.

The automotive, aeronautics, renewable energy and agro-industrial sectors now form the backbone of our productive fabric, attracting investment and creating wealth and jobs. Morocco has become Africa’s top automotive exporter, with annual production nearing one million vehicles. These sectors now account for over 40% of national exports, surpassing phosphates.

This progress includes launching new industrial units and positioning Morocco among elite nations with advanced aircraft engine and landing system manufacturing hubs.

Our renewable energy strategy aims to make energy security a pillar of competitiveness for industries seeking clean, affordable power. The operational phase of the ‘Morocco Green Hydrogen Offer’ has begun, with authorizations granted for major projects.

Dear people,

In a global context marked by protectionism and supply chain security imperatives, We have prioritized strengthening national sovereignty and strategic self-sufficiency. This is evident in our agro-industrial and pharmaceutical sectors, now covering nearly 80% of national needs.

Establishing an industrial and technological defense and cybersecurity base will gradually enhance defense sovereignty while creating development opportunities, reinforcing our regional leadership in these fields.

Apart from economic advancement, We continue implementing human development initiatives, particularly through expanded social protection. Our goal is to improve living conditions and achieve social and spatial justice nationwide.

We must ensure efficient implementation of integrated territorial development programs covering all regions without exception.

Transforming our economy and society requires unprecedented financial mobilization, primarily from domestic sources. We therefore urge the national financial sector to support investment and major projects by improving access to financing for SMEs, innovation, industrialization and exports.

We also call for greater openness and innovation in mobilizing national savings—particularly institutional savings—to revitalize financial markets and accelerate Morocco’s emerging economy.

Dear people,

With divine assistance, We have positioned Morocco as a credible, respected international actor and sought-after economic partner in balanced, forward-looking collaborations. The Kingdom now confidently engages partners on bilateral and global issues, offering constructive partnership proposals.

Morocco has diversified partnerships to strengthen capacities across all domains. These economic and social achievements transcend government mandates, resulting from years of cumulative progress driven by strategic vision and sound choices.

We hope that after the upcoming legislative elections and formation of a new government, a new development cycle will begin—one focused on preserving achievements and advancing major projects and reforms.

The Glorious Throne Day celebration offers an opportunity to reaffirm Our pride in the Royal Armed Forces, Royal Gendarmerie, territorial administration, national security, auxiliary forces and civil protection.
