The Malian Armed Forces (FAMA) reported on Thursday that coordinated military operations in the northern regions of Anfif and Tabrachat resulted in the elimination of approximately 100 armed fighters linked to militant groups.
According to an official statement, the targeted operations specifically struck members of the Support Group for Islam and Muslims (JNIM) and the Azavad Liberation Front (FLA). The campaign included 13 airstrikes that successfully neutralized six combat vehicles and one pickup truck, further disrupting the militants’ logistical capabilities.
Military officials confirmed that these strikes were conducted on Tuesday as part of an ongoing nationwide counterinsurgency effort. They emphasized the disciplined and resolute nature of FAMA’s campaign, vowing to continue such operations in close collaboration with allied forces.
A follow-up update from the Russian Africa Corps on the social media platform X highlighted additional achievements from the mission. The Corps reported the destruction and burning of multiple militant vehicles, as well as the successful targeting of a vehicle transporting ammunition and military equipment using an unmanned aerial vehicle (drone).
The Russian Africa Corps described the joint operations with Malian troops as highly effective, reinforcing their commitment to dismantling militant infrastructure and disrupting their supply chains in the region.
