The Kingdom of Morocco has elevated humanitarian action as a cornerstone of its foreign policy and African cooperation initiatives, guided by the forward-thinking vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, as stated by Ambassador Mohamed Arrouchi during a public session of the African Union’s Peace and Security Council (PSC).
Speaking at a dedicated discussion on refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and humanitarian aid in Africa, the Permanent Representative of Morocco to the AU and UNECA emphasized the country’s unwavering commitment to mitigating humanitarian crises across the continent. This dedication stems directly from His Majesty’s leadership, particularly in his role as the AU Champion on migration, which underscores the integral connection between migration governance and humanitarian response.
Ambassador Arrouchi outlined Morocco’s proactive efforts to address displacement and refugee challenges, highlighting the nation’s proactive stance in fostering stability and resilience in affected regions. The ambassador’s remarks reinforced Morocco’s position as a key player in shaping Africa’s humanitarian agenda, driven by a mission to alleviate suffering and promote sustainable solutions.
