New leadership for Moroccan water sector association

During a pivotal gathering, industry leaders elected a refreshed leadership team to steer the Moroccan Water and Environmental Sanitation Association (AMEPA) for the next four years. The assembly endorsed a 27-member board of directors and a 12-member executive committee, drawing representation from both public and private stakeholders across the water sector.

Delegates also convened an extraordinary general assembly where they reviewed and endorsed the association’s moral and financial reports. A key outcome was the unanimous approval of statutory amendments designed to modernize AMEPA’s operational framework. These changes aim to align the organization’s activities with current industry trends, particularly in boosting industrial sovereignty within the water sector.

Founded in 1997, AMEPA now unites over 95 active members, comprising public and private operators, regional multiservice companies, water concessionaires, industrial players, and specialized engineering firms focused on drinking water and sanitation.

With its renewed governance structure, AMEPA is positioning itself to foster a more cohesive and resilient ecosystem. The goal is to elevate Moroccan expertise in water engineering and related industries to global standards, reinforcing the country’s standing in continental and international markets.
