Poor cashew harvest impacts ivoire north-east farmers

In Côte d’Ivoire, the cashew harvest season is in full swing, yet producers in the Bounkani region are facing significant challenges. The Cotton and Cashew Council expects this year’s output to reach just over 1.3 million tonnes—a figure consistent with recent trends—but still a drop of 200,000 tonnes compared to the previous season. The decline is particularly pronounced in the Bounkani area, located in the country’s north-east, where erratic rainfall patterns have disrupted farming cycles.
