The Cotton and Cashew Council expects this year’s output to reach just over 1.3 million tonnes—a figure consistent with recent trends—but still a drop of 200,000 tonnes compared to the previous season. The decline is particularly pronounced in the Bounkani area, located in the country’s north-east, where erratic rainfall patterns have disrupted farming cycles.
