In Bénin, President Romuald Wadagni has officially unveiled the composition of his inaugural government. This new cabinet comprises a total of 24 ministers, including several delegated ministers. Following his election, President Wadagni has now taken the crucial step of forming his executive team.
President Romuald Wadagni of Bénin has officially named his first government, which includes 24 ministers and delegated ministers.
After his victory in the presidential election held on April 12, 2026, Romuald Wadagni took his oath of office on Sunday, May 24, during a solemn ceremony at the Palais des Congrès in Cotonou. On the very evening of his investiture, the newly sworn-in president announced the composition of his initial cabinet.
This newly appointed team consists of 24 ministers, among whom are three delegated ministers serving under the Minister of Economy and Finance. Notably, seven ministers from the outgoing administration of Patrice Talon have been retained in their positions within this new government, with some experiencing shifts in their departmental responsibilities.
President Romuald Wadagni has articulated his commitment to maintaining and advancing the trajectory of development for Bénin, a path vigorously pursued by his predecessor, Patrice Talon.
