Private sector seeks stronger voice in Cameroon’s 2027 budget planning
The Cameroonian Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Crafts (CCIMA) convened a high-level meeting on June 24, 2026, bringing together private sector leaders to shape key proposals ahead of the 2027 finance bill.
Cameroon’s private sector has taken a proactive stance in shaping the country’s 2027 budget framework, gathering key stakeholders to develop actionable proposals.
The June 24 meeting, organized by the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Crafts (CCIMA), brought together private enterprise representatives to address critical economic challenges. Discussions centered on fiscal reform, business competitiveness, and enhancing the business environment—three pillars deemed essential for sustainable growth.
Following intensive deliberations, participants submitted around 20 targeted recommendations aimed at aligning fiscal policies with the realities of Cameroon’s economy. The proposals are set to be presented to the General Tax Directorate (DGI) during upcoming consultations, marking a significant step toward strengthening public-private collaboration.
This initiative reflects a broader effort to modernize fiscal policies and create a more investor-friendly landscape. By fostering direct dialogue between business leaders and policymakers, CCIMA aims to ensure that future fiscal measures better reflect private sector needs while supporting national economic objectives.
