Bilal El Khannouss is set to become a permanent fixture at VfB Stuttgart after the Bundesliga side activated their purchase option on the 22-year-old attacking midfielder. Following an impressive loan spell from Leicester City, the Moroccan international has now committed to the German club on a long-term basis.
His breakthrough season in Germany proved decisive, with El Khannouss delivering 41 appearances across all competitions, contributing nine goals and seven assists. His consistent performances earned him a spot in Morocco’s 2026 FIFA World Cup squad, where the Atlas Lions will face Brazil in their opening match on June 14.
El Khannouss’s journey to Stuttgart traces back to his early years at Anderlecht, followed by standout displays at Genk. His move to Leicester preceded his current success, yet his most notable achievements came with the Moroccan national team—a continental title at the U23 Africa Cup of Nations and a bronze medal at the Olympics. Now, he stands as one of Africa’s most exciting football talents, poised to leave a lasting mark in European football.
