The Justiciable Forum Condemns Attempts to Link Ousmane Sonko to Ndiaga Seck Case
Babacar Ba, who leads the Forum du Justiciable, has vocally come to the defense of Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, vehemently rejecting any efforts to connect him with the detention of Ndiaga Seck. Ba labeled these suggestions as malicious attempts to smear Sonko’s reputation. His firm stance advocating for the protection of the Prime Minister’s public image highlights broader concerns regarding ethical standards in handling judicial matters across Senegal.

Ba, as the head of the Forum du Justiciable, specifically condemned any endeavor to draw a connection between Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko and the ongoing legal situation surrounding Ndiaga Seck, who was apprehended on allegations of engaging in unnatural acts.
Speaking on the matter, Babacar Ba asserted that Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, by virtue of his position as the nation’s governmental leader, “represents the very institution of government.” He maintained that any action designed to “blemish his public standing” or “cast doubt upon his character” is entirely unacceptable. The president of the Forum du Justiciable firmly believes that the arrest of Ndiaga Seck cannot legitimately be used as a pretext to link him with the Prime Minister in an effort to undermine Sonko’s credibility.
Furthermore, Babacar Ba emphasized that such tactics, in his view, directly contravene the fundamental tenets of the rule of law and should not be permitted. His comments emerge at a time when the Ndiaga Seck case continues to generate significant public discourse and various viewpoints.
