University of Lomé forges key tie with US-based Creighton University

The University of Lomé (UL) is expanding its global academic reach after signing a landmark cooperation agreement with Creighton University, a Jesuit institution based in Omaha, Nebraska.

The historic partnership was formalized on June 5, 2026, when Professor Kossivi Hounaké, President of the University of Lomé, and Father Daniel Hendrickson, President of Creighton University, exchanged signatures. This collaboration marks a significant step toward deepening ties in education, research, and knowledge exchange.

Shared academic and scientific ventures

The agreement lays the foundation for joint training programs, collaborative research initiatives, and enhanced mobility for students, faculty, and researchers. It also paves the way for joint conferences, seminars, and other academic events that foster cross-cultural learning and innovation.

Both universities have committed to sharing academic resources, developing joint projects, and upholding strict standards for intellectual property protection and data confidentiality in all research collaborations.

A five-year renewable partnership

This strategic cooperation is set for an initial five-year term, with provisions for renewal.
