Yaoundé finalizes preparations for upcoming Senate session
The Cameroonian Senate is set to convene its June 2026 ordinary session tomorrow, June 9, with administrative teams completing the final checks today. The thorough inspection covered all critical parliamentary infrastructure to ensure flawless operations.

Gustave Léopold Ngane, Secretary-General of the Senate, accompanied by deputies and senior officials, conducted a comprehensive inspection today of the Senate’s facilities at the Economic and Social Council. The final walkthrough assessed the readiness of all essential infrastructure supporting legislative proceedings.
The delegation meticulously examined conference halls, VIP reception areas, banquet facilities, and the main chamber where senators will convene throughout the session. Following the inspection, Secretary-General Ngane expressed complete satisfaction with the operational readiness of all installations, confirming that all logistical and technical preparations have been completed.
The June ordinary session traditionally focuses on budgetary discussions, strategic exchanges between the upper house and the Supreme Court’s Audit Office, and detailed examination and adoption of legislative proposals.
