Arsenal secures historic Premier League title after Manchester City draw

After three consecutive runner-up finishes, the Gunners finally break through to claim their first English top-flight crown since 2004.

Arsenal Football Club has ended a 22-year wait for English top-flight glory. On May 19, the North London side secured their 14th league title after Manchester City’s 1-1 draw at Bournemouth left the reigning champions mathematically unable to catch their rivals.

With a commanding four-point lead at the start of the final matchday, Mikel Arteta’s side maintained their unbeaten run to clinch the championship. Their triumph comes after three successive seasons as runners-up, including two heartbreaking defeats to Manchester City in 2023 and 2024.

The Gunners capped a grueling campaign with a display of defensive resilience that proved decisive against determined but occasionally inconsistent rivals. With the trophy cabinet now set to expand further, Arsenal will turn their focus to the Champions League final on May 30, where they face Paris Saint-Germain in a bid to secure European supremacy.
