From the scenic Dakar coastline to the historic island of Gorée, and spanning from major airport highways to remote rural settlements, tens of thousands of solar-powered streetlights now illuminate the landscape of Sénégal. This specific sector is largely led by two French entities: Ragni, a family-run business from the Alpes-Maritimes, and Fonroche, an SME headquartered in Agen.
These firms are part of a broader network of 340 French companies currently operating within the nation. While industry giants such as Orange, TotalEnergies, Auchan, and Eiffage have long-established roots in West Africa, smaller enterprises are increasingly identifying Sénégal as a vital hub for expansion. These small and medium-sized businesses are finding unique growth prospects in a market that continues to welcome French expertise and investment.
