French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte Macron extended a warm welcome to Brice Oligui Nguema, President of Gabon, and his spouse Zita Oligui Nguema during a recent state visit to France.
The visit followed President Macron’s own state trip to Gabon in November, underscoring the strengthened ties between Gabon and France. Key areas of focus included economic, energy, cultural, and defense cooperation, reflecting a renewed commitment to bilateral collaboration.
Beyond strengthening diplomatic and economic bonds, the two leaders engaged in discussions on regional and global challenges, with particular emphasis on conservation efforts in the Congo Basin rainforest.
The visit officially began with a high-level meeting and concluded with the signing of several agreements. President Macron and Brigitte Macron then hosted Brice Oligui Nguema and his delegation for a formal state dinner, marking the culmination of the visit.
