Investors convene in Abidjan to fuel Côte d’Ivoire’s growth ambitions
Abidjan, July 9, 2026 — Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé led the second day of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 Consultative Group, this time dedicated exclusively to investors. The high-level meeting, held at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire, drew over 700 international investors from allied nations, reinforcing Côte d’Ivoire’s reputation as a prime investment destination.
Building partnerships for economic transformation
Addressing a room filled with business leaders, private sector representatives, and investors, the Prime Minister emphasized the critical role of private capital in driving Côte d’Ivoire’s development agenda. “This gathering marks a pivotal step in uniting public and private efforts to unlock the country’s full economic potential,” he stated. “Your presence here signals trust in Côte d’Ivoire’s growth story and its capacity to deliver transformative results.”
Ivory Coast’s economic resilience highlighted
Highlighting the nation’s strong economic performance—averaging 6.5% growth in recent years—Robert Beugré Mambé underscored Côte d’Ivoire’s standing as one of Africa’s most dynamic economies. “We are not just navigating global challenges; we are seizing opportunities to build a more competitive, job-creating economy,” he added. The government has made private sector-led growth a cornerstone of its strategy, positioning investors as key allies in this vision.
The Prime Minister outlined priority sectors for investment under the PND 2026-2030, including:
- Industrialization and value addition: Boosting local processing of raw materials to enhance competitiveness.
- Strategic infrastructure: Expanding transport, digital, and logistics networks to improve economic connectivity.
- Human capital and innovation: Investing in skills development and services to foster a productive, inclusive economy.
Private sector voices amplify commitment
Leaders from major business federations echoed the Prime Minister’s optimism. Ahmed Cissé, President of the Confédération générale des Entreprises de Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), alongside counterparts from MEDEF (France) and CGEM (Morocco), along with Mohamed Gouled of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), reaffirmed their dedication to Côte d’Ivoire’s development goals. “We are ready to commit substantial resources to make this plan a success,” they affirmed.
The first day of the Consultative Group, focused on institutional partners, had already attracted 3,000 participants from 49 countries, including Côte d’Ivoire. With such momentum, the PND 2026-2030 is poised to accelerate Côte d’Ivoire’s economic evolution.
